Allow your stomach the satisfaction of authentic Japanese food without having to leave the island — instead, take a short trip to Odoriko Japanese Restaurant.

Odoriko is one of Waikiki’s longest established Japanese restaurants, and has been serving authentic food since its opening in 1972. Odoriko is located away from the usual Waikiki traffic, and can be found in the King’s Village Shopping Center.

In addition to its full course menu during its breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sushi bar hours, Odoriko offers lunch specials from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some of its featured lunch menu items are the Odoriko Special ($7.50), the King Set ($16.95), and the Spicy Tuna and Salmon Combination Don ($12.75).

The Odoriko Special is offered on the kamaaina menu and features beef teriyaki, chicken karaage, vegetable tempura, salad and rice.

The King Set also is available on the kamaaina menu and is served with two pieces of sushi (shrimp and squid), three pieces of California Roll, sashimi, shrimp and vegetable tempura, edamame, sweet egg omelette, fruit, miso soup and rice.

“King’s Set is offered in a box and is considered a Makunouchi set, which is perfect for a quick lunch for diners on the go. It’s filling and prepared very quickly,” explains general manager Hiro Takei.

The Spicy Tuna and Salmon Combination Don is found on Odoriko’s regular menu, and consists of spicy tuna and spicy salmon served over rice. It’s a zesty option, and fortunately kamaaina also receive 10 percent off.

These lunch specials are just a small taste of what Odoriko has to offer. Be sure to check out other delicious items on its food and drink menus.
