Feeling Lucky at WailanaDigest Eat This

It’s a good thing we are lucky enough to see rainbows on a regular basis in Hawaii. This delight especially comes in handy on St. Patrick’s Day, when the little leprechauns at Wailana Coffee House can be found cooking up a pot of golden cuisine at the end of their rainbow.
What’s even better is that you can find this treasure of Irish-inspired food at the Ala Moana Boulevard restaurant on March 17, from 11 a.m. to midnight. One classic that would leave St.
Patrick chasing rainbows himself is Corned Beef and Cabbage, Killarney ($13.50). Moist and tender slices of corned beef are draped over caraway-flavored cabbage wedges and served with boiled potatoes, carrots, mustard and creamed horseradish sauce. The dish’s authentic flavor will catapult you right into the Irish countryside.
Your taste buds continue on a journey over the rolling hills of Eire with Roast Chicken O’ Shannon ($12.50), which includes macadamia nut stuffing and rich pan gravy, as well as Fillet of Salmon Florentine ($13.25) poached in a court bouillon, served on a bed of spinach and crowned with house hollandaise sauce.
The luck of the Irish seems to have landed on the special menu’s sides, as each entree includes the all-you-can-eat salad bar and a choice of baked or mashed potatoes, french fries or rice, as well as corn on the cob, chocolate mint cake, coffee and tea or a soft drink. Festive beverages such as wine or Irish Coffee with Whiskey and Whipped Cream ($4) also are offered.
If you plan to celebrate all day, kick off your feast with the 24-hour restaurant’s St. Patty’s Day Breakfast Special ($9.25), complete with corned beef hash, two large eggs (any style), hash brown potatoes, toast and coffee. You’re in for a menu that’s as heartily delicious as a four leaf clover is lucky.
