The Fat Greek in Waikiki, Ala Moana and Kaimuki is getting even bigger with a new location coming soon to Kailua.

The new eatery is expected to open in March in Enchanted Lake Shopping Center, and then additional restaurants are planned for the North Shore and Mililani.

Known for its authentic Greek food with a Mediterranean twist, The Fat Greek features original recipes that are fresh, healthy and flavorful.

Open for lunch and dinner, eat-in or takeout, the menu offers a great selection of Fat Greek appetizers, salads and entrees, and house specials.

Regular customers may notice that Mediterranean Salmon ($12.95), which is usually offered as a special, is now on the permanent menu, as well as Fat Greek Kebobs ($12.95).

The salmon is grilled and topped with a special Mediterranean salsa served with basmati rice and a side salad. The kebobs are made with your choice of lamb or chicken, marinated and grilled with vegetables, and served with basmati rice and a Greek salad.

“We saw there was a market for Greek food in Hawaii,” says co-owner Francois Provenza, who is credited for creating the recipes. “Our food is made fresh, and we use healthy ingredients. That’s what the Greek and Mediterranean diet is known for, and that’s what we do.'”
