Kozo: Keeping On It

When you just can’t find time during the busy holiday season to cook, or if you need a convenient meal during the bustle of your shopping escapades, Kozo Sushi — Hawaii’s No. 1 takeout sushi establishment — offers a wide variety of traditional and specialty rolls and dishes.

Two words can describe Kozo’s Poke Bowl: simple and tasty. Served for $6.99, the Poke Bowl — only served at the Kahala Mall location — features spicy ahi poke don mixed with chili pepper, Hawaiian salt and masago served over white rice sprinkled with nori.

For those with a heartier holiday appetite, Kozo now offers two bento plates with an assortment of favorites, both served for $6.99. Chicken Katsu Bento consists of thinly sliced chicken katsu served over white rice with Kozo’s house-made katsu sauce. Accompanying this dish are two pieces each of shinko maki and California maki, one piece of cone sushi and a small tossed salad.

The Teriyaki Chicken Katsu Bento comes with sliced teriyaki chicken sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onions served over white rice. Paired with the bento are two pieces of shinko maki, tossed salad and soba noodles. Kozo Sushi also would like customers to know that the eatery’s various locations will be open Christmas and New Year’s Day, and large orders should be placed early for both days.
