Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, a restaurant with a long history of pizza making, is the best place to find all kinds of specialty pizzas, chicken wings and more. Back in the day, this nationwide chain had four locations on Oahu, all of which sadly closed more than 30 years ago. Last year, franchise owner Brad Vandeman decided it would be great to bring Shakey’s back to the islands and opened an establishment in Waipahu Town Center.

Even though out of sight, Shakey’s was never out of many minds. Franchise business partner Greg Kopelow describes how wearing his Shakey’s shirt often becomes an invitation for people to stop him and express their excitement to revisit the tastes of their childhoods.

“People grew up with us and they just love it.”

Now, the restaurant is ready to shake things up with its promotional pizza. Starting Oct. 10, Shakey’s is debuting its exciting, new Mojo Supreme Pizza, an innovative combination of two dishes the eatery is known for — thin crust pizza and the Mojo Supreme.

“The inspiration for the Mojo Supreme ($9.99) is one of our signature items,” says Kopelow. Shakey’s famous mojos, or crispy sliced potatoes battered and fried to a golden brown perfection, serve as the base for this dish. Then flavorful nacho-inspired toppings such as melted Cheddar, mozzarella cheese, crispy bacon, green onions, black olives, salsa and sour cream top it all off.

Taking the Mojo Supreme to the next level is what this promotional pizza is all about. It may be made on Shakey’s popular thin-crust, but the ingredients are piled high on the satisfying Mojo Supreme Pizza. All the same scrumptious flavors are carried over from the Mojo Supreme, along with an additional spicy burst of jalapenos. Between the crust and the mojos, this dish is crispy to the max.

Like all of Shakey’s pizzas, it is offered in small ($10.49), medium ($17.49), or large ($22.99) pan sizes. You also can enjoy the nacho style pizza on Shakey’s thicker pan dough for $1 extra.

“We spent quite a while trying to get it just right,” Kopelow explains.

So make sure you take advantage of this limited time offer, not to mention the fun-filled game room to complete your Shakey’s experience.
