Kit n Kitchen Stocks Up on New Appetizers

Diners familiar with Kit n Kitchen’s extensive and diverse Eurasian cuisine will be pleased to know that the popular eatery has added two pupu items to its impressive array of appetizers.

Kit n Kitchen owner and namesake Kit Yiu beamed as he unveiled the new offerings that will be available in concurrence with Dining Out‘s publication. In other words, as you read this, the dishes are available for enjoyment at the Varsity Center restaurant, located across from Puck’s Alley and just off University Avenue.

The Fresh Clams ($9.95) is a hearty bowl of fresh steamed Manila clams infused with vegetables and a special mix of spices prepared Szechuan style.

“It’ll numb your lips; there are special spices inside,” says Kit’s wife, May.

Also new to the menu is the Lamb Cave ($9.95), a colorful amalgamation of thin, tender slices of roasted lamb leg with crisp romaine lettuce, cucumber, fresh-diced tomatoes and sour cream wrapped in a grilled tortilla cave and served with roasted potatoes.

Kit n Kitchen also offers a special discounted menu for those interested in trying some of the eatery’s other popular appetizers. With the 99-cent menu, customers may order one of six specially priced pupus along with an order of two regular entrees. The items eligible for the special include the Eggplant Parmesan, Grilled Beef, Mini 8 Inch Chef’s Pizza, Escargot, Tomato Seafood Soup and the Spicy Mussels.

“It’s a very cool thing when people walk in the door and see the special,” Kit says, “especially for people that haven’t been here before, or for those who bring their friends to try our menu for the first time.”
