Before casting a net upon the seemingly endless surf n’ turf entree options available at Atlantis Seafood & Steak, it’s always a good idea to bait one’s appetite with some of the eatery’s starters from the sea. While contemplating whether to order the fresh, live Maine lobster or Garlic Rib-eye Steak, kick-start your palate with a wide range of pupu possibilities.
Dive in and try the Deep Fried Ocean Wrap ($12.95). The beautifully presented appetizer includes jumbo scallops and shrimp wrapped in a slice of tasty bacon that is then deep fried until golden brown and served with a mango salsa. The Spicy Ahi Poke ($11.95) also is a favorite of Atlantis customers. The dish includes fresh-cubed ahi tuna bathed in sesame oil and completed with scallions and a wasabi essence.
Atlantis is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and serves lunch from opening until 4 p.m. Some of the other pupu favorites include the Golden Fried Calamari ($8.95), Garlic Clams ($12.95) and the Kalakaua Crab Cakes ($12.95).
The eatery also is able to accommodate large gatherings, including graduation parties, and interested customers are encouraged to inquire about special packages and menu options.
“For local people, if you haven’t come down to Waikiki in a while, a lot has changed,” says the restaurant’s executive general manager Steven Matsuno. “Waikiki is still Waikiki. It’s right in our front yard, and it’s an awesome place. Come check it out! You can get a little bit of everything right here at Atlantis.”
