You don’t have to travel far to experience all your Japanese favorites, as they can all be found right here at Hanaki Restaurant in Manoa Marketplace. The restaurant first opened its doors in 1996 as an all-youcan-eat buffet, before embarking on a new journey — one of oishi shabu shabu creations and other local Japanese cuisine.
General manager Mark Mitsuyoshi says customers of all ages can’t seem to get enough of Hanaki’s shabu shabu options, presenting diners with an eclectic array of soups and bowls/plates of vegetables, seafood and meats ranging from $2.50 to $4.50.
Also, sink your teeth into Hanaki’s Combination Plates (two choice plate $9.95, three choice plate $12.95), a perfect choice for the indecisive diner, offering up a variety of local favorites, including shrimp tempura, fried fish katsu, chicken kara age, tako yaki, homemade gyoza, deep-fried oysters, shoyu chicken and shoyu tofu.
